Really depends on how long you plan on driving each day and when you are travelling. As a long haul trucker, I can tell you from experience weather plays a huge role . If you are doing this in the winter, take a day to get to medicine Hat. End of day 2 try for the Ontario border. Day 3 try for North Bay and you are in St.Catherines in the afternoon of day 4. This is if you don't run into any major snow storms. These are 16 hour drive days I gave you so add another day if you prefer shorter days. You have at least 2 full days in Ontario no matter what. Hope this helps. Take the south bypass road around Winnipeg, it is well marked and you avoid Winnipeg city completely. Also in Nipigon, (an hour east of Thunder Bay) you can take the northern route through Cochrane ,Hearst to avoid the snow belt areas along the great lakes, you end up in North Bay and while the road is a little less travelled, it is less hilly and less snowy.

It is 4346.8 kms if you travel thru the states and would take 45 hrs and 18 mins.

It is 4600 kms if you travel thru Canada and would take 49 hrs 6 mins.

This is straight drive time not counting time it takes to eat, sleep, gas. Give yourself 4 or 5 days, this way you are rested and allowing yourself time to eat and gas up. It would still be about 10 -12 hrs on the road everyday. Drive safely.

It is about 5000km. Most of the highways are 90km/hr or less. How long per day are you comfortable driving in a day. PS, the CF gives you 12 days to go from Halifax to Victoria.

If you take all Canadian road, 5 days is safe drive.
Or you can drive through the U.S. then, 4 days is enough.
