Usually thats the Luxury model. Thats what it ment on my 1989 Ford Probe. Check Wikipedia too, I'm pretty sure they will say the same thing.

It's a trim level. It used to generally mean "luxury" but many cars are now using LX as their base model trim level tag.

LX does mean luxary extras. Its a silly moniker.

nothing -- they could call it the mercury cougar yy or hu or gk but lx conotates luxery so it means nothing but a particular trim pkg that varies from car to car make.'
