They will see it as a victory, the bringing down of the great satan, the US. So if you are not for winning and killing these barbaric b@stards, what side are you on?

I agree with you. The insurgents will see it as a victory. And the rest of the world will start calling us New France.

The insurgents see it as a victory for them. We couldn't get the job done with the number of troops we had there, they killed a few thousand of them and now we need to send more. Right or wrong, that's definitely how they see it. That said... we went over there, turned the place upside-down, right or wrong, and now we need to get the job done. We need to restore some semblance of order there. We can't just leave or that whole region is going to be unstable for many years to come. If it's going to take more troops, then that's what it takes. Now is not the time for second thoughts. We're already in over out heads.

The insurgetns will most likely see it as neither a victory or a loss. They will probably use our presence there to continue recruiting adherents to their various causes. On the flip side if we left they would atempt to complete their takeover of full power in Iraq. After all that is the main thing they are doing over there. Trying to take control of their own country.

I believe they look at it as a victory because they are probably thinking we need more troops because we can't handle the insurgency and they are probably right but a surge won't help either.

If we leave, that is their victory. They will not wipe out our military, or take Iraq from under our feet. They do not have the means to do that.

Any pull back from Iraq will be seen as a loss at this time. I don't care what kind of spin and BS you attach to it.

I've always been for killing them. I've long felt that the problem with war these days is that you aren't allowed to hurt your enemy's feelings.

They will see it as a loss when we slaughter them like the animals they are.
