Really there is no cure for the flu it is known as Influenza and is highly contagious, it is spread by coughing respiratory secretions.

The only treatment is rest and pain meds BE CAREFUL the flu lasts for 14 days you will feel better (the only thing you can do is take pain meds and an anti-pyretic which reduces the fever) If you get up to soon then you could have a relapse more than once. if you you squawk loud enough to your physician after a relapse or two he may prescribe you some anti-biotics and predinsone. When you first acquire the flu they do not like prescribing anti-biotics since that virus will eat that up like candy.

Even though you may feel better stay in bed a few more days eating chicken soup and drinking chicken broth will help with this as well. Remember to change your linen as well you will sweat and changing of linen and washing your body will help too, you might want to try a dry shampoo for your hair as well. When you have sweated most of the germs have secreted from your body cleansing the body and head will make you feel much better.

Well the best thing for any sickness is Rest and Water so you do not get dehydrated. Other then that you can go buy yourself some Vic's Flu, Robitussin Flu and NyQuil Flu over the counter meds to help you through it, but the flue has to leave on its own.

Remember with any fever you may get, you never cover up, this will only raise the temperature in your body therefor making you sick. If you get hot keep the sheets off of you even though you might feel cold, this will help bring your temp down along with some Benadril which is a fever reducer

If you have influenza, you cannot "cure" it. The virus will run it's course. You can try an OTC medication for flu symptoms other than Tylenol Flu formula, Tylenol or Advil for headache, sore throat pain and fever. Cepachol or some other sore throat spray. Bed rest. Increase your fluid intake. And don't count on making that audition unless you miraculously recover by tomorrow. And next flu season, consider a vaccination.

Rest, fluids, vitamins, a craft project (for me, it could be anything quiet but fun and challenging),
and make sure whatever you see on TV includes some HUMOR!
It really is the best medicine, endorphins and all.
Oh, and hey,
make sure to get your heart pumping once or twice.
I know it stinks,
but if the blood jsut kind of languishes, so do all of the viruses. And the antibodies that fight the darned thing don't get around so well if you're sluggish.
Good luck!

Flu is caused by a virus. Antibiotics will not work on viruses. You should be over it in 7-10 days. Drink plenty of fluids and get plenty of rest. You just have to wait it out.

If you do find out how to cure it, you'll be rich! Personally, I make homemade chicken soup and it really helps. Everytime one of neighbors gets sick they ask me to make my soup.
