Call the police and have a restraining order put on him. Tell them that he's hit you and threatened you with your life.
Don't delay, do it now. The longer you wait the worse it looks for you and the less help you will get from the law.

RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dont hesitate get out of the relationship immediately and call the police as soon as you are at a safe spot. No matter what he says to you now, even if he cries, even if he grovels, no matter what HE WILL DO IT AGAIN. If you need help call your local domestic violence shelter, they will take you in, help you with all the legal stuff, help with food and clothes everyghing you might need!!! Dont fall for his nonsense in 99%of all domestic violence cases the guy HURTS THE WOMAN NUMEROUS TIMES BEFORE SHE LEAVES. Dont be foolish leave before he hurts you again and again.

i would call the police and have him arrested,and then i would pack my things and leave his sorry but.been there and done that.
