According to the medical reference book I have in front of me, "anxiety disorders are the most common psychiatric conditions in the United States. Approximately one in ten people suffer from them..." Keep in mind there are several different types of anxiety disorders (ex: PTSD, OCD, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, etc.)
Another source lists Major Depression as the most common and says one in five people will experience it at some point in their lives.
Bipolar disorder is not the right answer. It only effects between 1-2% of the population.

Depression would be the most common one, anxiety driven disorders like OCD are also quite common. I would say that Bi-polar would make it to the top three..
