I have been taking laxatives for the last 8 years and I can stop!!! It is impossible to go any other way... I have tried all advice such as excercise, more fibre, more water, etc. but nothing seems to work, I have always been thin and ate a healthy diet, but 8 years ago my doctor gave me anti-depressants and thats what started it, ( I only took them for 1 months)

It can be overcome but it is difficult. The muscle that controls elimination has become lazy and it has to get back to normal. Please see a gastroenterologist for help. There are natural laxatives like Fiber Choice that are less harsh and can restore your system.

try: psyllium husks. you can buy it from any health food shop, you mix with water and drink it. It helps to prevent constipation. You should also drink lots of water. You could try eating prunes - they also help.
