Walking, jogging and running. Anything that gets your heart rate up and keeps it there will help you burn fat.

It is true that walking, swimming, and cycling are easiest on your joints but if you run on asphalt or grass it's not far behind the other forms of exercise concerning joint health. Running burns the most amount of calories per hour but for the best overall fitness you should just vary your routine and do all of those exercises. It's also important that you can do one of those activity for an hour a day and not get bored because its really the time actually logged in exercising thats more important than the activity itself.

Walking and either swimming or cycling would be the best. Jogging puts too much strain on your joints, so I would avoid that. Walking or cycling can be built in to your routine, which is the best way to make long term changes - could you walk or cycle to work? It is best to do some sort of weight bearing exercise like walking - if you just cycled, your bones wouldn't benefit as much. :)

Running/jogging is the best, followed closely by cycling and swimming. I personally recommend doing all of these as a variety of activity will challenge your body in more ways than just doing one thing, thus your weight loss will be more rapid and sustainable longer-term, and your body will shape up in a more balanced way...that is to say running may target your legs and bum, whilst swimming will tone you all over...cycling uses different muscle groups again. The more variety the better

You don’t need to exercise for long periods of time. Short, sharp sets of exercise will produce better results when you work hard. Get a bypassing rope, skip for two min's, do push ups for 60 seconds or so, skip for two minutes, rest for starters minute. Then change the push up to something else like sit ups along with do the set again. Repeat it five times and it’s an instant, effective workout that will improve results than a long run or swim.

I would say the best way is to walk to places and not to drive (as it doesn't cost any thing. IF you can jogging is good too~but can be problem with people with chest complates like asthma.
The next best thing to do is the swim it tone ever muscle in your body but depend on what you money situation is to wether you can afford to go to the pool to swim.

Hi my hubby was a proper couch potato and a few years ago i got quite concerned over his health has he had developed diabetes so i went out and bought him a metal detector he now walks on average 8 miles per day as we live quite close to the beach and he has found very many interesting items and artefacts and has lost 5 stone since last year with a healthier diet and the walking without even realising how much effort he is putting into it, so have a try AND good luck !!!
