Send an icebreaker? The best icebreaker I've ever heard...
Is to grab an actual handful of ice... walk over to the person and slam it down on the table in front of them.
Then you smile and say "I broke the ice! Wanna talk?"
The person will laugh, and you'll start talking.

OK here's a little game101. Ice breakers: 1 were something that is so over the top that it begs to be commented on. This works both ways comment on something they wear or do in a playful way.
Backhanded compliments: You looked good in those jeans 5 years ago. Nice shirt my dad(grandpa) has one just like it. A little witty banter will start a conversation.
Eavesdrop and butt in: If Bears are going to win the Superbowl, You say they haven't got a chance.
