You may have to pay estimated taxes 4 times a year (April, June, Sept. and Jan 15th. Ask the IRS to send you for 1040-ES and instructions booklets.

Sounds like you get a 1099 instead of a W-2. If so put this self-employment income on Form 1040 Schedule C. Deduct all business expenses on that schedule. Net profit flows to 1040 - remember to put it on Schedule SE too to compute social security taxes not deducted from your pay.
