You can take a flu shot and still get the flu for a couple of reasons:
A: Either your body hasn't had time to process the antibodies from the flu shot.
or
B: You could contract a strain of flu that wasn't included in the vaccine.
All in all, if you have the flu one year it gives you an immunity that is unequalled to that of a flu shot...even different strains due to the protein phage around the virus itself...the weakened or dead viruses they inject into you negates the casing or phage around the DNA and it's not as powerful of an immunity than if you actually contract the virus itself with the living form of the casing. Most influenza viruses have the same protein casing but with different variations of DNA inside. That's why one strain of the live flu that you contract and fight off will grant you immunity to other strains for a few years.
Ever notice that when you have the flu that you usually don't catch it again for two to five years after having it?

Every time I had the flu shot I either didn't catch the flu or I got a less ill that others around me. I remember the time about 4 or 5 years ago when it was real bad and everyone around me missed about a week or more of work and I was out only 3 days. Before I started getting the flu shot I was hit hard each time I got sick.

it is possible, there are alot of types of flu out there and the flu shot will only cover a certain strain. I don't get sick after a flu shot but my mom does almost every time.

i do not imagine all and sundry "has to" get it regardless of the indisputable fact that the physician feels it really is interior the perfect interest of the toddler's well-being. What a flu shot is is basically an noticeably weak yet nonetheless residing rigidity of a 'flu malicious program'. This shot enters the 'flu malicious program' into you or the toddler, and your body responds through creating its own resistance to this rigidity of 'flu malicious program'. accordingly if interior the destiny your toddler will develop into uncovered to one of those type of 'flu malicious program' the body has a a lot a lot less complicated time battling it through what it has equipped.
