Im looking for a good web site that offers tutorials or another visual depiction of what is going on. A friend of mine took a class over the summer and made some pretty cool stuff. Im not looking for "put the led on the bettery and tape together" kind of thing. I want something that might be able to get me somewhere involving soldering and circuit boards.

Get a hold of the Amateur Radio Handbook from the American Radio Relay League. You can find them at arrl.org. It starts assuming you know nothing and walks you through the whole splash.

Might have to break down and "pay" for it like all the others that went to a college for Technology.

Jr Colleges also have courses which only lasts a few weeks.
