As The Koala said: a lip balm containing lysine from a large health store and a L-lysine supplement. Also take lemon balm capsules or tea besides L-lysine as lemon balm is another effective anti-viral against the cold sore virus. It is important you don't touch the cold sore as you can spread the virus this way and it is especially important not to touch your eye area when you have cold sores because of the risk of spreading the virus to the eye. Anyone with active cold sores should avoid kissing another, take care to cover their nose/mouth when sneezing/coughing in front of others and wash their hands afterwards to reduce spreading of the viral particles.

use abreva, its expensive, but ive been using it for six months and never had a cold sore, well worth the money and avoiding those embarrassing buggers! if you already have one, get abreva and apply six times a day. also, avoid extreme hot, cold, spicy foods and stress, all of these things can trigger cold sores and make them worse! when you first feel that tingle on your lip, you need to act! do these things and youlle never have one for a long time, and if you do, youlle keep it reduced to a barely noticeable red spot!

Any lip balm with lysine in it. Also, go to GNC and buy an L-Lysine supplement, take it twice a day and you will almost never get cold sores.

u need to put salt on it that's how i get rid of my cold sores

well my biology teacher told me to use bakeing soda on it jsut it taste really nasty but leave it on there till it ends up all gone
also dont bite it or touch it
