Hi there...many cats can be leash trained at any age with a specialized harness designed for cat's comfort as well as safety. This is a nice alternative for cats who enjoy outdoor excursions without the unsupervised dangers. Many cats can be trained to heel as well, however it takes a bit of patience to teach and if you don't mind being walked by the cat rather than the other way around this can be an enjoyable experience for both of you.
Here are a couple websites which explains how to leash train a cat:

Yes, but make sure you use a cat harness. You can get these at your pet stores. Never try to walk with a collar. Cats don't like the feeling of restriction around there neck and will do the "fish out of water" effect. If you are trying to walk a cat that is indoors, your cats must be gradually broken in to the "outside" world. Never leave your cat unattended.

Of course you can. It's not guaranteed that your cat will like it or even move for that matter if it has been an indoor cat for quite some time, but it's worth a try. With repeated occurrances, your cat will become acquainted with familiar sights and smells, just like a dog. They will get used to it. You can buy specific leashes for cats (with a smaller neck hold) at your local pet store.

There are some cats that will let you take them for walks. But cats are more independent than dogs. If your cat is still young then start keeping a collar on him. This will get him used to the feeling of something around his/her neck. Take gradual steps, eventually it may be possible to take your cat on a walk!!

Absolutely, although it will be more like the cat is walking you. It's a great way to let an indoor kitty get a taste of the great outdoors while still under strict supervision!
I'd definitely get a cat or ferret harness. Cats are so squirmy that they can get out of lots of collars. Also pay close attention to your cat's body language. If he looks nervous or scared, I'd take him back inside.

Sure. My father is in his 80's and takes his indoor cat out on the patio and out for walks with a leash every day. When she wants to go out for a walk (or a sun bath) she hops up on the arm of the sofa and waits for him to slip her harness on. A full harness is needed because cats are so flexible and can easily slip out of a simple collar.

Yes this can be done, I used to do this when I lived in London. As long as this is just for fresh air and some outside excercise then its ok. a good litter tray should be supplied for indoors when you are out. as cats do not like to "go" outside on a leash

YES. I take both my cats o walkies wearing halter and leash. The older one trots along the sidewalk with me just like a doggie on a leash. Many cat owners have successfully leash-trained their cats. It just takes patience.

well i guess u could but i dont think cats are like dogs in that way they prefer to be able to walk on their own unless u have moved house and the cat is unable to know where to go anyway good luck.

Yes. I had a cat that loved it. (He was a Bermese Sealpoint.) He was trained as a kitten and would beg to go for walk!
