Well, I don't think there's a probelm with your dog, but you are gross, bathe more often please.

Lots of people worry that baths are bad for a dog's skin. That may have been true back in the days when dog shampoos were as strong as laundry detergents. As long as you use shampoo formulated for dogs, you should give your dog a bath whenever he's dirty, greasy, smelly, or itchy. Puppies as young as eight weeks old can be bathed (as long as they are kept warm and are dried thoroughly), but they rarely need a full bath: a sponge bath with a damp washcloth should be all it takes to clean a young pup.

What kind of shampoo should you use? Unless your vet suggests using special shampoo (hypoallergenic, anti-itch, antibacterial, flea-killing, moisturizing, de-greasing; the list goes on and on), your best bet is a dog shampoo that's simple and mild. Make sure the water's lukewarm, keep the suds out of the dogs eyes (shampoo can damage the cornea), rinse well, and when you're done, gently dry the insides of your dog's ears with cotton balls or a soft towel.

If you're constantly bathing your dog because he's greasy, smelly, or itchy, it's time to visit your vet. Dogs are not supposed to scratch and smell bad--honest.

you should not bathe a dog more than once a month as this dries out their skin. You can bathe them more often if they get excessively muddy for some reason. You can also use baby wipes in between bathing to keep them fresh and remove any loose hair or dandruff.

it is recommendable to bath a dog no more than once a month, but a dog can have a bath without shampoo if one loves having a bath. using 2 much shampoo is bad for dog's skin

my dogs are bathed and groomed professionally once a month. I bathe them in between as needed.

There are so many good shampoos and conditioners for dog hair and skin available that there is no reason for any dog to develop dry or itchy skin from over bathing.

You only bathe once a month? I bathe every day!! Your dog can have a bath once a month as well although it isn't really necessary unless he/she is dirty. I will probably only bathe my dogs when they are starting to smell as bathing too often can cause them to smell worse!

Once a month is plenty unless he gets too dirty playing outside or getting into something hes not suppose to, but with the winter here the air is super dry. Try avoid if possible giving him too many baths in the winter, it will dry out his skin causing him to be really itch & uncomfortable.

Once a month is a good rule, unless they are excessively dirty. My golden likes to run around in the mud after it rains so I have to give him a bath more often then but once a month is good enough.
