Depends on what made him not "want" to talk to you. Honestly, if this dude doesn't "want" to talk to you, then you most likely will never know what "he" is really saying since only "he" would know the answer to that question. Regretfully, sometimes in life, we will never get the answer. Give it time and give him space, if you haven't heard from him in a week or two, that might be the answer that you will now have to suck it up and move on. Good luck and best wishes.

It could mean different things depending on situation. Maybe it hurts him to talk to you because he has feelings, maybe he has moved on. Try and get a hold of him somehow and ask him what is going on.

who knows, men are weird. Maybe he just needs space, maybe he is over it. I would try not to think about it and don't keep calling him, because that is going to push him away and make it worse
