You should take it to the vet and explain its symptoms. I know it sounds strange, but birds can sometimes have fits and they'll fall over when that happens. To check its nails hold him/her up to a light source and look for the red vein that goes down through the nail. The nail should be cut a few millimeters below that. Just check to make sure they arent too long. I hope he/she's alright.

This does not sound normal at all. Birds don't fall when walking. I would take this bird to an Avian vet. This could be an infection or some kind of difficiency in it's diet. Don't try to blindly treat the bird since you aren't sure what is going on.

As for nibbling it's feet, as long as it is not drawing blood it is fine.

Does this happen always or every now and then, how old is your parakeet?

Do you have a vet you can take him to?
