I had that problem. I changed my mind like a hundred times, first I wanted to be a nurse then i wanted to go into fashion design. Find something you love to do and try it out. I love music and entertainment so I got an internship at a radio station and now I know for sure its what I love to do. Don't worry a lot of people in college go through this. also ask your counselor at your school they have those tests you take and it tells you what your good at. I hope that helped.

You have a little bit of time since you are a freshman. I am a grad student in speech pathology and I am absolutely in love with what I do. I work in a speech/langauge/swallowing rehabilitation center and it is so rewarding and energizing. My advice to you is to get out there! Take a few electives in different fields and volunteer at places around your town. If you find something interesting delve into it deeper. Keep searching until you find a career that you think you could wake up everyday and be happy about. Thats what I did and I am so happy. Good luck to you!

Sometimes it a matter of knowing what you definitely don't want to do. It's all a process of discovery. Try it and see. Make changes. Sacrifice your comfort zone for something you really want. People that settle because they are afraid to try end up complacent and unhappy. There are people in their 50s that are still not afraid to try something interesting.

Here's a test: Go to the bookstore or library. What section do you stop at without thinking about it? Science? Business? History?

Lastly, stay out of debt! When you owe lots of money your choices are so limited and you can't change.

The answer is simple. You need more experience. You need to open your horizons and expose yourself to different things. Ask everybody you meet what they do and what is their jobs like. Then see if you can get them to show you what they do or have you try their jobs. At some point you will find something that will click with you.

Another important thing with experience is to not necessarily find out what you want to do in life but, to find out what you don't.

Take an inventory of all the talents and skills you possess and figure out which career they would fit. Here's what I did: I'm good at writing, I have a great eye, and I like coordinating creative teams. Boom — advertising executive.

I think you should go to some places and do some job shadowing so you can see what people do.

I figured out what I wanted to do from my best friends other friend. She told me what she does, and how she enjoys it so much, and here I am.

Other people I know have done some job shadowing at the local hospital and figured out that they want to do this, or DONT want to do that... its all about observing. Good luck
