If you believe that god instigated evolution and a day=a million years, how old was adam after god created him on the 6th day and rested on the 7th? it's the same word used, "yowm," to mean your 1,000,000 years and the translator's "day."

MARIANNE, what of day 7? wouldn't that be a million years as well?

ROSE, so adam was a couple thousand years old by "day" 8? and get off your high horse madam, you didn't quote any scripture, nor did you give a reference. i'd be willing to bet you aren't even an "old earth creationist," so you probably shouldn't answer questions which are not directed at you.

For starters, you can't even quote what scripture tells us.. it is not a day = a million years... its like a thousand years is yet a day to the LORD... a day is like a thousand years.

Why are you on a trivial kick?

What is the purpose of this information for you?

Why knowingly that the scripture do not say, you ask this question to mere man? Are you afraid to ask the Father, the Creator, this question; and be willing to wait for the answer no matter how long you must wait?

Are you enjoying the mockery you display of God's Word here in the Yahoo Question/Answer section?

The problem with the "yowm" being an era rather than a 24 hour period is that each of the days (yowms) in Genesis is stated to have been marked by an evening and a morning. The text very explicitly states that they were 24 hour periods.

As for Adam's age when he left the garden, it is not stated. But it does state his age when he died (939). So it is, again, difficult to argue that he lived for millions of years in the garden if you accept what the Bible says.

To God it is a 1,000 years, but to man it is one day.

The Bible does not give that information was to how old he was when he sinned and what kicked out of the Garden of Eden, but I do believe the Bible point to the person who would have that answre

Jesus died and rose again at the age of the 33, it is believed that when the true believers will rise again and receive their glorified bodies, they will be around the age of 33. Since mankind was not intended to see death we were to be immortal. Adam was either the age of 33 or somewhere in his 30s, because Jesus came as a Adam for mankind. Jesus came to take place of Adam. The true believers' body will be exactly like Christ's body(except the true believers body will not have the nail marks in their hands and a pierced side).

Revelations as says that the Antichrist will come to power at the age of 33.

Shawn, you don't finish the verse regarding time. The meaning is that for God, time is irrelevant.
God created evolution.

Heh, good point. I hadn't thought of it that way.

After that long of a wait, you'd think old Adam would be ready for death!

I know I would.

who cares? If someone could possibly come up with the answer, would it convert you? No. Obvioulsy, you want to make some point as to how Creatitionism couldn't happen. Thanks. Opinion noted, but I am still going to believe in Creationism. My little pea brain can't expand enough to encompass all of the open mindedness and brilliance of someone as enlightened as people who don't believe in Creation.

I don't know. Religious faith is counterintuitive and illogical. It helps people get through their lives-- so it can't be all bad, however much it may appear to be. But arguing doctrinal points is like sweeping the sidewalk in a hurricane.
