If you mean furniture placement ..why not create a setting area by placing two sofas, love seats or several chairs perpendicular to the fireplace. Then create TV , game, or reading areas with groups of furniture for those activities... for walls...think scale..if the room is really big..one or two pieces of really large wall art is better than lots of little items..you want to accent that large space without taking away the focal of the fireplace by having clutter.. and place the large items at opposite ends of the room ro balance a centered fireplace.

Center the couch perpendicular to the long wall toward the fireplace to help split the space. Place the TV across from the couch so it and the fire can be viewed from the couch equally.
Behind the couch place any ancilary furniture, such as a game table.
