I take 150 mg a day as a preventative for migraines. I must say that it has truely been my miracle drug. Before topamax, i was having 3-5 migraines a week. Now i'm down to 1-2 a month. I did experience a few minor side effects at first, sodas tasted flat. My hands, and somestimes tongue would become tingly. Almost as if my hand had fallen alseep. Also it curbed my appetite, which help me lose about 10 pounds. No drastic horrible side effects. Here is some websites for more info.

Well I don't know if it helps with migraines but I can tell you that I was put on it to treat bipolar disorder symptoms. It's nickname is "dopomax". And it has that name for a reason. When I was up to 200mg of the stuff it was like I was as high as a kite all the time. I was making rice-a-roni and I opened the box and went to pour the contents in the pan and missed and just watched it fall on the floor and laughed my butt off. It didn't turn out to great for me but people respond to things differently. On the bright side, everyone wants to get on topomax because it makes you lose weight--or that's what I've heard. Nope I use the walmart brand 4 migrains it works Great
