I just took down the rest of the indoor garlands and lights last weekend. We do quite an extensive display both inside and outside. I miss it, the soft glow of the lights, the warmth of the pine garlands, the smell of evergreen, the stockings hung on the fireplace mantle and the neighbors stopping by for some cocoa to check out our decorations. For some reason the house feels, cold and empty inside. When I pull up the driveway, the outside looks like something is missing. I really miss the decorations and the way they make my home feel, too.

My Christmas tree was put to the dump on New Years eve, I was having a party and needed the room (it was a rather large pine!) and the rest of the decorations came down on the 3rd of Jan. I dont miss them at all. Its supposed to be bad luck if you leave them up after Jan 6th!

I take mine down the week after Xmas when we are all back to work and normality. Glad to get rid of them for another year. Tradition says it is bad luck if you have them up after the 6th !!

my decorations are up most of the year my religion beleives in Jesus and i feel it should be celebrated all year round although alot of people think i am crazy i think we should Celebrate Jesus's birth all year round not just on the desinated holiday

even if our calanders are not exact like some believe

if it is bad luck to have them up after the 6th then i have had bad luck all my life so i dont think bad luck is why i think that is an excuse your mother gave you so she could take them down
