Hi there...kittens are rambunctious balls of hyperactive energy. Sometimes they will get a wince of wildeness and bound about like a pinball and it's quite normal for kittens to be zaney as you are witnessing. As your kitten ages over the years this behaviour will slowly be a distant memory so these moments will soon become precious memories for you to cherish for many years.

How long has this been going on?

Did she just get vaccinated? Because one of my mom's cats was acting in what can best be described as "running away from herself" right after her annual shots. When she couldn't calm down, my mom (a seasoned vet tech) called the vet back and they rushed her back in. As it turned out she was going into anaphyllactic shock from the vaccination. If we had lived just 5 minutes further from the vet, Bianca wouldn't be around.

Now, if this doesn't apply to you, sorry for the boring story and I'm pretty sure she's just being a kitten.

Yes you are blessed to have a playful kitten. You have more to worry about if she is constantly laying around. So it is good that she is going crazy. I have a 2 month old kitten that is constantly crawling up my legs, and jump at my feet and hands. Whatever he can possibly grip on. You got a great healthy kitten!

she is a kitten with a lot of energy she needs to burn off. Think of a 6 or 8 year old child that runs around a playground chasing other kids... that's what young things do... burn off excess energy.

Provide toys for your kitty that she can chase around: balls, tiny play mice stuffed with catnip, etc. Do NOT leave strings or rubber bands or hair clips or any tiny object the cat can eat laying around though. If the kitty ingests such things it could mean an emergency trip to the vet for possible surgery. WAtch out.

Enjoy your kitten :)

She is still a kitten, all kittens do this. My 6 month old male kitten does this a lot. Especially at night, he likes to play "scaredy kitty" with me. I will sneak up on him slowly and he takes off running around the house, then sneaks up on me and arches his back to look big and scary.

Sounds like she is having fun to me. Get her some toys and play with her for a few minutes. It doesn't have to cost anything. I have cats that love to chase scrunchies across the floor and will even play with a paperwad for hours. Cats can usually entertain themselves but sometimes they want interaction with their humans and this might be her way of telling you just that. (Bet you tell her to slow down, don't you? And she will as long as you are paying attention to her)

All cats are crazy! She is normal, and as she ages, she will more than likely calm down. Make sure to pet her gently and soothe her with your voice when she IS calm (even in her sleep). Animals can pick up on our vibes... you might come off as crazy to her and she is reacting to you. Who knows what goes through their little minds!

Thats just what they do. I have a five month old kitten that does the same thing. She goes and goes and goes and then just falls asleep.

this is perfectly normal. kittens have enormous energy. she will need lots of toys to play with. and some catnip too. it might calm her once in a while.
