Have you ever tried kheema? It's an Indian dish with lots of aromatic spices. It's a little bit fussy, but not difficult, and it will make you look at ground beef in a whole new way. Here goes:
--2 medium-sized onions, peeled, coarsely chopped
--4 cloves garlic, peeled, coarsely chopped
--1 piece fresh ginger, about 2 inches long by 1 inch wide, peeled, coarsely chopped
Place these in a food processor or blender with 3 tablspoons water and blend to a smooth paste. Set aside.
--4 tablespoons vegetable oil
--1 2-inch piece cinnamon stick
--4 whole cloves
--4 black peppercorns
--1 bay leaf
--a good pinch dried red pepper flakes (or to taste)
--1 tablespoon ground coriander
--1 teaspoon ground cumin
--1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
--1 large or 2 small canned tomatoes, coarsely chopped
--2 lbs. ground beef
--salt to taste (start with 3/4 teaspoon)
--1 tablespoon fresh lemon or lime juice
(Note: you could reduce all the quantities by half to make a smaller recipe, but it actually freezes pretty well--it's almost like a chili--so if you're going to all that bother anyway, I'd go ahead and make a big batch and freeze some for later.)
So now...heat the oil in a good-sized skillet over medium heat. When hot, add the cinnamon stick, cloves, peppercorns, bay leaf, and pepper flakes. After about 20 seconds, add the paste you made in the processor/blender. Keep your face away from the pan as you do this, because the spices contain volatile oils that can sting your eyes.
Fry about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. If the mixture seems dry, add a little bit of water as needed. Add the coriander, cumin and turmeric. (By the way, I'm sure it's blasphemy, but I sometimes use ordinary curry powder in place of these 3 spices, if I'm out of something!) Fry another 5 minutes.
Put in the chopped tomato and cook another 2 minutes. Add the meat and the salt. Turn the heat up to medium-high and cook about 5 minutes, stirring. Break up the meat with your spoon and try to get as much surface area browned as possible.
Then add 1/2 cup water and the citrus juice. Bring to a boil, then cover the mixture and let it simmer over very low heat for about 35 minutes.
Check to see if it needs more salt. Serve it over cooked rice, Basmati if possible. Some baby carrots and cauliflower on the side would be nice.

Pour off fat. Add soup, salsa, milk, tortillas and half the cheese. Spoon into 2-quart shallow baking dish. Cover. Bake at 400°F for 30 minutes or until hot. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Serves 4.

BBQ Cups
his goes well with french fries and corn on the cob.
3/4 lb. hamburger meat (I buy the lean - $1.75)
1/2 cup BBQ sauce ($.30 - if even that)
2 tlbs. brown sugar (pennies)
1 tlbs. minced onions (pennies)
1 can Pillsbury biscuits ($.75)
3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Brown beef, drain. Add bbq sauce, brown sugar and onion. Place individual biscuits into muffin pan - ungreased, press them out all around each muffin pocket. Put meat mixture into the biscuits and topwith cheese. Bake at 400 degrees for 10-15 minutes

Pizza Burgers
1 lb gr. beef ($1.49)
1 jar any kind pizza sauce (.89 cents)
1 pkg. mozzarella cheese ($1.89)
1 8 count hamburger buns (.69 cents)
1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2) Separate buns in half and place on baking pan, heat for 5 minutes.
3) Brown gr. beef and drain, add pizza sauce.
4) Spoon gr. beef onto buns, and top with mozzarella cheese.
5) Bake for 10 minute or until cheese is melted.
Makes 16 pizza burgers

You can try this in different ways:
chop the garlic and onion, saute in a little olive oil, add ground beef, stir to break up the meat. cook pasta as directed and drain. When meat mixture is done (all browned) pour on top of pasta. I like this with egg noodles, bow ties and brown gravy. but you can use any pasta and add grated cheese insead of gravy, try tomatoes,tomato sauce . steam your fresh carrots, add butter and pepper and you have a complet6e meal.

Ramen Noodle Skilet
ground beef (about a pound)
2 packages of ramen oriental flavor
about 2 cups of fresh veggies
either soy or worschestire sauce (1 tablespoon)
brown beef
add 2 cups of water, veggies, flavor packages of ramen and, soy.
place lid on the pan and cook until veggies are tender, stir occasionally
add ramen noodles put the lid on the pan for about 5 min. keep repeating this step until noodles are tender

Goulash! I made one the other day that was absolutely to die for. Not like the ones from the school cafeteria in elemetary. It sounds like you have pretty much all the stuff to make it too.
