Some guy hundreds of years ago translated the bible I used to own. No one had to do it for me after that. I read English pretty well. I don't think translate is the word you want to use. Do you mean interpret? As in take a bible verse and explain what it means?

Wow....that one question (who teaches you and why do you like their teaching best, I'm assuming is the question) JUST led to nothing but BRAGGING, TRASH TALKING, and PATRONIZING...All the asker was doing was asking you to look into yourselves and reflect on what teachings you follow and why, and you all got nothing-but defensive in a heartbeat...awesome....nobody even answered the question! Saying the "holy spirit" translates the word of god for you doesn't cut it, because the faith is based on fellowship, you should interpret it based on a consensus (what two or more of you agree upon on earth, i shall make so in heaven). You guys can't even get your own religion right (of course who could blame you when its BS in the 1st place?)

I am going to presume that you are not an English speaking person. If that is so, seek out a person with years of walking in God's way. One who has been taught by a person who has been properly educated. As for me, I have several "translations" of the Bible. All in English. With no exceptions, the message of God's love is the same in all of them. I pray you find the faith you are seeking. YBIC

I took Greek and Hebrew in Seminary. I try to read the texts of Holy Scripture in the original language as often as possible.

I'M reading the Bible. And I'M deciding for myself what it means, one chapter at a time. I'll be my own translator, thank you very much. I don't want someone's elses opinion until I've formed my own.

The Holy Spirit interprets the truth of God to my heart, mind and spirit.
Jesus said: But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. (John 14:26, NLT).

Actually I have read many versions and have decided for myself based on my image of what a loving God might do or a civilization that lacks understanding and knowledge of natural forces on earth.

Whenever the meaning of something is in doubt google the Greek meaning and suddenly all of those so called "contradictions" will fade away. (Doesn't answer your question but none the less informative)
