I have a friend on the internet, he is a year younger than me and has he likes me. The thing is I don't like him like that, I think he is a great friend and nothing more.. We play video games and in the game he drops hints and is really nice and sorta follows me like a lost puppy.
I don't want to hurt him by telling him I don't like him, and I know there is no way that he won't get hurt.. But I would rather tell him that I don't rather than leading him on... How can I tell him , in the nicest way?

it's a sucky situation, but your best bet is to be honest with him. next time he drops a hint, tell him you really like spending time with him (as long as that's true!) but that you're not interested in anything romantic with him.

Your instincts are totally right - there's no way you can tell him without him being hurt, but it's better to tell him than lead him on.
It would be easiest if you had a mutual friend that could break the news... it would let him save face. And if he's too shy to ask you outright, you don't have the chance to turn him down.

Perhaps you could make up a crush on some other guy? Or discuss setting him up with a girl? That's a pretty strong hint.

A good phrase to use is "I really value you as a person, and a friend." Never list reasons why you don't feel more for him (it'll just give him a complex)... it's just how life/love works out sometimes, and you have to know your own heart well enough to know that you'll never care for him that way.

You just have to say that you aren't interested in a romantic relationship with him. It's best for him to know the truth. If there is no way to prevent his being hurt, you do more harm than good by lying or withholding the truth.

Just say exactly that. Say, "I think you're so nice and I consider you a great friend, but that's pretty much going to be the extent of our relationship. I don't want to hurt your feelings becuase I really do enjoy having you as a friend and I don't want to loose that."

He has a weird reaction. Horoscope aren't that sharp. What you need to ask is yourself. Do you love him? Confront him! Tell him how you feel, about his hints, his behavior, your feelings.

You just have to be blunt with him, and tell him that, while you enjoy his internet friendship, you have no plans for taking your "relationship" any further. Being nice about it may give him the wrong impression, and cause him to increase his amorous intentions.

Explain how much you enjoy your current relationship with him, and that you don't want to risk it for one that might not work out. Allow him to retain his self respect and it should work out o.k. Good luck, you sound like a caring person, worthy of a good friend. He should see this unless he isn't really who he says he is.???
