Extroverted behavior is the only way people can communicate and cooperate with each other. The fear you're describing "becomes too much" when the individual begins surrendering his identity and pride to the point where he can no longer comfortably and successfully behave in conjunction with others.

Friends, strangers, family, subordinates, peers, and superiors all fall into the others category, but different people have different expectations. Just be yourself and enjoy the world for what it is.

For me it's when I just stop coming around at all. I never really think about whether I'm imposing on others until they start telling me to back off, and that's when I take it to heart at times and I end up stuck, not knowing what to do, because after I back off then there's people who will tell me they miss me...it's something that I really have a hard time figuring out either way, but I've come to the realization that it's better to let people come to me if they want something, and for me to give them the last word, if that makes any sense.
