My girlfriend is extremely upset with me. She asked me when exactly did I commit to her. We hooked up in november and she told me she was commited to me from the start. But she also said she wasn't ready for a serious relationship. By her definition, commiting is to pledge oneself totally to another individual. She didn't give me all of her until february(meaning we had sex). I didn't rush her or anything. It just happened. I commited myself totally in march. Did I use her in anyway and am i wrong for waiting that extra month?

We talked about sex and relationships and everything before we hooked up. I know it sounds dumb but it just happened. If i could go back in time i would. but thats not the case.

I was always faithful to this girl. I am in love with this girl. She is my first serious relationship and I want it to go all the way. But should we break up because of me not commiting when it was best for her?

No, you just weren't ready. But if you did something with some one else during that month, then yes it was wrong.

You two are apparently still very young, because your girl is still hung up on a fantasy of how it should have been, instead of the reality of the fact that you are there, you're good to her and you're together.

You can't change the past, and you didn't do anything that would need to be changed, anyway. This isn't some romance novel. And as she grows up, she'll learn that people's feelings aren't on a schedule. Couples rarely feel the exact same things at the exact same time. I mean, by her logic, you should be able to be mad at HER for committing too EARLY, right? She needs to let this go, and let go of the idea that romance is like it is in books. She has a good guy who cares for her and you two are learning all about first love together. One of the things you'll both learn is how to let go of unrealistic expectations. If not, you'll just waste the happiness you could be enjoying together.

Good luck.

This should have been discussed from the beginning of the relationship. I think you are wrong. After yall had sex in Feb, that was the seal on the committed relationship. If she wants out, let her go.

how you feel is how you feel... you sound mature and respectful and the girl should be happy that she has found someone who didnt rush her and is still committed. whether or not you 'officially' became that way in march you were still committed because you still called it a relationship and you were totally cool about everything

In relationships its so darn Easy to say the words " I am committed to you" or "I love you" but heck we all know that we get to REALLY commit when the time and feeling is right.
The same thing in : You can't force yourself to love someone you got no feelings for and you can't force someone to love you back.

no your not wrong... sometimes it's takes longer for others to commit and it doesn't say anything bad to you... you should tell your girlfriend to chill out :) :) :)
