I think my hair is long enough to donate, and I want a new look, but I would like to donate the hair to some charitable organization if I can. I can't find anyone through the internet that says they support any cause. If anyone knows anything, please let me know.

The salon you go to doesn't have to be in any way associated with locks of love. I just recently cut off 13 inches from my hair and all I did was put it in a zip lock bag and sent it to them in the mail. I know that sounds funny but if you go to their website they will tell how to send it to them and what kind of packaging it needs to be in and how long the hairs has to be. It will tell you all you need to know.

generally if you allow the salon to know ahead of time what your intentions are, they will take care of your for free. Your hair has to be a certain length (I believe 8 to 11 inches) and dye-free for at least 6 months. I've done this lots of times and usually with Regis. Couldn't hurt to give them a call. :)

Google Locks of Love to see if they provide information about salon's who participate in the cause in your area.

sorry im not in florida but, i heard that locks of love doesnt really donate the hair to bald children. they sell it to weave and wig salons, and who knows what they do with the profits. i heard somewhere that they were considered an unethical organization because they do this.

your going to have to call, it's usually by stylist to be honest. Stylist are generally not hourly paid so they work by the amount of customers call ahead and let them know what you wanted to do and make sure the hair is atleast 12 inches your donating.
