your passport has to have 6 months left on it on the day u return so yes u will def need to renew it! easily done go to the post office pick a form up very simple to fill in new photos and away u go if u send it urself it should take about 3 weeks to come back or u can do the check and send thru the post office 4 £7 and it should be back within 2 weeks. hope this helps

Speak to the Turkish embassy about how much time they require to be left on your passport. The embassy contact details can be found on http://www.fco.gov.uk/ under the directory link.

However, given that you can apply for a passport renewal 9 months before your current passport expires, it makes sense to apply for a new one. It is about a 4 week turnaround and they will add the unused time on your current passport to your new passport. Visit http://www.passport.gov.uk/index.asp for the Passport Office.

yes it has to be valid for 6 months after your return date, but send it off now £66 and it will run from now until Sept 2017 you do not lose any time by sending it in early and I have just done this it only took 5 days to return

If your passport expires less then 3 months after your entering date you will have to renew it.
