If you ask a technical question that you really need to know the answer to you never get a helpful answer. And worst of all, if you ask a thought provoking question that happens to offend someone's beliefs you lose ten points. The abuse-button abusers are the cancer that is killing this site. There should be a penalty for using the abuse button frivilously. If you disagree with me, you are probably an abuse-button abuser yourself. So, what do you have to say about the general faggotry of Yahoo! Answers?

Here's a question I had deleted yesterday. "Do you plan to watch the History Channel program on Jim Jones tonite?" That was the entire question! Who got their shorts so bundled up that they felt this should be reported as abuse?

I have asked several technical questions and several in the religious forum and have received excellent answers. It wasn't offensive but your question above is indicitive that you are offensive. Asking offensive questions is different than using words like faggotry which is again indicitive of why you may have had abuses reported. Thought provoking is in part what this forum is about. Abuse and stupidity is against the community regulations which you agreed to follow. I disagree with you, I have used the abuse button but it was for the retard, the jewhater and many of the others who ABUSE the system. You have not abused the system as I can see, but then I will check your past questions to see.

I agreed with you all the way up till you said "faggotry", that's not nice and is in fact very rude and offensive.

Anyways, yes, I've noticed some very thought provoking questions were removed on bogus violations just because someone didn't like them, not because they actually violated any of the rules. I think some people are trigger happy when it comes to sending in violations.

Key word: free.

Google just discontinued their Answers service. Their problem was cost: there was a charge to ask. I'm not sure if there was a charge to answer.

On Y!A, anyone can answer because it's free for registered users. It has become a huge open forum with no moderator, apparently.

I've gotten good answers for most of my questions. Sometimes I don't get enough answerers or the answers are inadequate. Avoid questions that call for opinions or subjective answers. It's a jungle out there.

Generally, you can surf for answers to your technical questions. Otherwise, yes, Y!A is general faggotry, a huge waste of time that I am addicted to.

well it can be kind of lame at times especially when you are asking a genuinely sincere question but everybody sees things differently i guess or maybe it could be the way you are wording your questions maybe you do so in an offensive way anyway i would say to ask the question again but in a slightly different way anyway i agree that yahoo should look into some of the abuse claims as they are not always that offensive

It is sad that I have to agree that some people are really asking a good effort to make this column a very unpleasant place. I think we should be interested in having meaningful conversations without mean agendas.

I want to communicate different kind of people and I do not think that people are stupid if their opinions and views differ from mine. I do not mind even a little slander toward me, but there are some really evil people behind avatars.

It's only as lame as the folks who hang out here.

I still find it in myself to write detailed, thoughtful answers every now and again, but mostly, I'm just here for fun. I suggest you take the same approach.

And watch it with the "faggotry" **** -- I might have to flag you for that ;-).
