She does sound pretty skinny... it could be her natural body type, or she could have an eating disorder. Watch her carefully to see if she binges/purges, or is just lazy/ignorant about proper nutrition.
Also, be careful how you encourage her to eat more... the unspoken message you are sending her is that your love depends on her physical appearance (ie, she's "too skinny" but heaven forbid she become "a bloater"). Reassure her that you love her just the way she is, but you want to make sure she is healthy and happy.

No, you are not wrong about being concern, but to be honest, people who think skinniest is better hardly listen to one person's advise, whoever he/she is. So you are in a difficult position.
I know because I was one of them, and once I was dating a guy (a muscle builder) who told me: 'you are gorgeous, but I think you would look much better if you put a couple of pounds on'... I stopped seeing him. I used to avoid any kind of fat, did allot of exercise and freaked out if got one more pound... When you are in that state of mind, it's very difficult to get out, it's like a kind of addiction to be skinny...
Today, I look at my pictures of those days (10 years ago) and I think I look terrible skinny and my husband agrees (5'3" and 94lb...)! My period came every 31 days, I used to get colds often... Now I am 120lb and feel great. The weight just came when I grew older, bussier and mature.
I don't think that anything that anybody would have told me then would have made me change my mind, but for sure if I had know some health facts by then, I would have been less obsessed.
So, instead of going straight to tell her what you think (because she could be sensitive about it), maybe you should try to keep on hand (and that she can see) some health magazines, express some delicate observation about skinny models (SHE is gorgeous, but SHE would loook better with a couple of pounds on...') or even get a BMI chart (that shows in a relation height/weight what is healthy) and make sure she will see you looking at it or it is accesible to her.
Good luck!

This may be a symptom of an eating disorder. Could you try taking her out for dinner and encouraging her to eat a balanced main course? Your 'concern' about her potentially turning into a bloater will be exactly the attitude that gets people into these bad habits. Not exactly sensitive.

You're not wrong, you are right. You should be concerned about her. It sounds like she's buying into the pencil thin super model look. And that's not healthy. That's where eating disorders come from. People of died from that. Fortunately the modeling industry is beginning to sit up and take notice as to what they are doing to young women out there. I sure wish it would turn around sometime soon. It scares me for our future generations.

I'm guessing she's on the special K diet if she's eating special K for dinner. I did that too because they recomend it in the advert!
She isn't life-threateningly skinny s don't worry too much.

Her weight is not excessively low for her height. I think what she eats may be more important than the amount. See if you can steer her towards the healthy fats like olive oil and avocados.
Exotic cheeses and breads might tempt her as well.

i found out what is good height in proportion to weight. I am around 7.10 stone, and about 5'1", and i am at a perfect weight for myself. My friend eats no lunch or breakfast, but pigs out on chocs. I am worried about her. Just tell her straight, tell her you're worried about her. Let her decide if she is willing to gain afew pounds at least.
Hope I helped.

Shes not underweight for her height. But if you are concerned about her, tell her how you feel. Hopefully you will be able to reach her by letting her know that you care about her and want to make sure shes staying healthy.
