Great idea! and No, it will not confuse your kitty - he'll thank you for the extra box and theextra convenience... just make sure that he knows there is another box upstairs with the same kind of litter filler. Take him to the laudry and let him smell his old litter box, then take him upstaits and intorduce him to the new. The cat can count. He'll know that there's one downstairs and another one upstairs.

Nope. In fact, I recommend it. I have 3 cats (one of which is a 9 month old kitten) and 2 litter boxes. Cats will go wherever you place the box, so there's no need to fear that your kitten will be confused. She'll probably thank you.

Hi. Having several cats myself. Many times I had to rearrange the litter boxes and remove them ot different places, either cause of inconviences. Sometimes they like it better if it isn't in a area that is used alot. So upstairs may be better for your kitten. Their smellers are MUCh stronger than ours. She will find it with no problem. She will get use to it! Good Luck!

ensure the muddle used is in a muddle field that may not too tall for the kitten to get in and out of genuinely. i take advantage of the arranged ones on the food market as for a kitten they paintings great. next, positioned the muddle field in the section to not a techniques removed from the nutrients. i take advantage of the two a great crate with toys, a blanket, nutrients and water and the muddle field to the returned or a small properly lite room and mushy music. Then when I feed I close the door and the toddler will detect and experience secure and in the approach will use the muddle field. some newspaper under the muddle field protruding slightly supplies the kitten a sparkling experience and helps discover their potty section. I easily have "The grimy Dozen' (12 cats) and a pair of great canines all rescue little ones. wish this allows. additionally undergo in ideas do not relocate the field till the kitten/cat is doing properly for you by utilising itself.

I think its a great idea to add a litterbox upstairs. Your cat, if hes anything like my cats, will be thrilled to have a new bathroom. Just make sure to leave the existing box where it is for now. You could eliminate it in the future, but why? I would love to have a two bathroom place!!

Of course not. It is natural for a cat to potty in a litter box.. I have two one up and one down stairs. My cats don't have a problem with this they seem to be ok with it. I say "Go for it!" its just the extra cleaning that sucks....

No, the cat will just realize she has options and probably use both boxes, although at first she may favor one of the two until she realizes there is more than one available to her.

I would not add another litter box. I had a friend who did that & there were problems, especially when the cat got much older. One litter box in my opinion is enough.
