Why do you cry naturally when you are sad? Or, why do cry at all (eyes watering) even when you aren't sad?

i really want a "scientific" question...not because of sadness but what REALLY happens! Thanks to those of u who said what happens...not "i'm such a girl"

the emotions trigger the glands in teh throat, which is why ur throat feels heavy when u are abt to cry
crying is just a physiological response to sadness and grief, or even happyness
its a sign that u are human with feelings and emotions, esp when u cry during a sad movie
eyes water when u yawn becuase the blood flow to the brain saturates the eyes
eyes need to be lubricated, so that is why they get watery

Crying is really good for the soul. Don't ever hold it in. It is part of our emotions. we get eye water because it's a nerve in the brain that triggers this off to our tear ducts. You can cry happy tears, sad tears, fear tears, love making tears etc. You really will feel better after this emotion.

the reason is because of your feelings...its a way your feelings are expressed and shown(through teary eyes)....you can cry from tears of joy and cry from sadness....because for some reason what ever happened touched you and hit that soft spot whether your happy or sad..its just the way the body reacts when it just hits that spot to where you really feel it and tears naturally fall..expressing your emotions and how you feel... :) bye


tears are tears but they can fall for different emotions and feelings, not just being too happy or really sad. its also away of getting through something.

well if the sun or my eyes just get dry they start to water and alot of times people think that i am crying which is really annoying.
