It's not about when mom & dad are ready for their kids to have a big boy/girl bed, it's when the child is ready.
At 15 months, some kids just aren't ready to sleep in a bed. At 2 1/2 some kids still aren't ready.
You'll know when they're ready, but until then the crib is where they belong.

I think a child will let you know when they are ready for a big bed. If they try and climb out of the baby bed then it may be time. Some children aren't ready until they are as old as 2.

My sons were all in their big boy beds by 15m but, I think its a personal decision. I know some people who have had their kids in cribs until they were like 2 1/2.

We keep ours in cribs till at least 2 years old. AFter that we move them to a regular bed but with a railing on the side.

when ever the child is ready anywhere between 1 1/2 to 3 1/2. Just make sure the room is safe in case he/she gets up at night.

By a yr old most children are already walking. If your child is already walking then a toddler bed is a great idea. I think it's ridiculous to have a 2 yr old in a crib! My son is 3 and already sleeps in a twin size bed.

I think that it is up to you. If you feel comfortable with your child sleeping in a "big boy\girl bed" then allow them.

If they are trying to crawl out of the crib. Otherwise, don't rush it. My son is 15 months old and doesn't even try to get out of his crib, so we are keeping him in there until he tries.
