He didn't want them to do that? Is there anything else that he doesn't want his believers to do that they do anyways?

The christian god is a mythological figure and not real...

However, hypothetically he would be very angry (he was always angry about something) that his followers aren't off killing heretics, aren't murdering anyone who works on Sunday (Exodus 35:2) aren't killing their own children for being rebellious and/or drinking (deuteronomy 21:18-21), that women are no longer slaves/servants and that they're doing "man's work" (Exodus 21:7), that men with long hair is now acceptable (Corinthians 11:14), and so on. He's certainly pissed that the handicapped and crippled are now accepted by society too.

I could cite more than 500-700 examples where the christian god wants us to murder, enslave and destroy anything that offends him, including women, nonbelievers, heretics, cripples, people of different skin color, those who think for themselves, those who drink, and so on and so forth. Needless to say, if he was real he would be PISSED.

Good thing he's not real. =D

I don't think God was ever happy at people being burned at the stake. I do not know any heretics anyway.

I suspect there are many things done today that God may not be happy with. I am relatively sure he is not happy with what atheists are doing. But rest assured, God WILL speak for himself when the time comes. SW

I believe He was more angry at those who did it...

Most of the Salem "witch" burnings have been anthropologically theorized (and perhaps proven now?) that those people, mostly the women were suffering from encephalitis (inflammations of the brain), as screaming and hallucinating are symptoms of this.

I believe God's Heart breaks every time an organized "religion" commits any undeserved harm "in His Name". What really happens here is FEAR, alot of church goers get comfortable and whenever God brings a "wind of change"(and yes He is allowed because He is God), they get scared and tighten the doctrinal belt around their members with coercive fear.

I have news for you: Many of those who were burned at the stake were His people.
Now they are being comforted. And those that burned them at the stake are themselves burning. And the flames never go out.

I don't claim to know what God thinks, but here's what I believe. It's very simply: Judge not, lest ye be judged. If someone's sinning (and it's not murder or something criminal like that), then it's not our place to punish them for it. Things that are debated like abortion and homosexuality... it's not our place to condemn them. People must do what they believe, and in the end it will be God who judges us, not our fellow man.

I do not believe God would ever want anyone to be burned. This sounds more like the work of the devil. Anyone who believes in this sort of cruel punishment is most likely not of God. I think God is saddened by people choosing to kill. God gave us the commandment, which clearly states "Thou Shalt Not Kill!" Why would you believe that God approves of killing under any circumstances? Anyone who claims that God permits killing is probably lying. I know that all sins darken the soul. Killing kills our souls.

Anger is a lower animal based emotion. The Pattern (my name for God) is not an animal who COULD burn people at the stake.Ignorant humans project their own weak psyches onto THAT WHICH IS BEYOND ALL NAMES, and then justify cruelty and barbarism in the name of the 'God' they created. In my own experience, God is simply Love -- and we sure as heck don't need a religion to know what THAT is all about!

Witches weren't burned at the stake. (There really was no such things as a real witch!) It was Christians accused of being witches that were burned at the stake---by "religious cults".

Wow... If you're going to start burning people at the stake again, how about we start feeding people to the lions again while we're at it. You burn a few Pagans, we'll feed a few Christians to the lions, seems fair, right? Anyways, before I get anymore ideas, thanks for the free points.

It is clearly written that mans judgment of mankind is imperfect. Also that man when he kills other men in the name of God, Is considered a murder by that very same God......... All that I can say is that it is mankind quest for wealth and power is what causes mankind to not intrepid God's words correctly and to mis-use that power that he was given by the people because of their mis-understanding of Gods words .........................
