Getting the right color for lowlights can be tricky. If you say you hair is a medium brown right now, your only real option is a deep rich red. Lowlights means darker than your natural. I don't know, but black or dark brown would like wierd. I think the best thing to do is get foils in your hair and weave a few different colors throughout, this looks awesome. Ie: golden brown, dark red, medium blonde/more golden. That would look great.

typically lowlights are darker colors than your natural hair to add depth and dimension to your style, but since your hair is already really dark, it wouldn't have a purpose and wouldn't be really noticeable. as for highlights, a deep warm brown that's a few shades lighter than your natural color should look subtle, yet lovely.

well u cant really do lowlights since your hair is already black, unless u do it like purple or something. i think dying the underside of your hair blonde with black hair on the top is cute, but it might not be your style
