Whatever you do please don't name it Max. That is my son's name, he was named after my greatgrandfather, and so many people are using it as a pet's name now.
I like Edison or how about Einstein.
My first dog was named Baxter.

since schnauzer are german dogs why not a german name? they are rare and often prestigioius...
Harald, Werner, Klaus, Hagen, Siegfried, Gunter, Wilhelm, Konrad, gerhart.....
there are lots of them, also you may serach databease for baby namens, they often tell you the meaning of a name. so you can find one that fits the charakter of the dog.
