Parietal is the location of the stroke in the brain. (the parietal lobe)
It is not different from other types of strokes you have heard about. The doctor just gave you more information about where
the stroke occured. The parietal lobe and temporal lobes are
very common areas for stroke damage to occur. The types of problems seen after stroke are based on where the stroke occured and how much permanent damage occured in that area.
Basics - the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body and vice versa. Speech is usually located on the left side.
Each lobe of the brain has a particular function and damage in that lobe can damage those functions. Check out the website below for a quick review of the fuctions in the parietal lobe. Hope this answers your question.

Probably affects the parietal lobes of the brain or lobe.

Likely a branch of the circle of willis that supplies arterial blood to the region of a or the parietals is occluded and can or is causing ischemia to a or both parietal lobes.

It may affect memory and or other functions.

Yawning may pass the clot-

a slow deep deep deep divine inspiration breathed in not held or stopped and let out, may impact an aneurism with pressure and erosion for successful remedy to restore arterial circulation and reduce hypoxia to the affected parts of the brain.

If it's an embolism or an hemorragic stroke, its far more dangerous to yawn with force and could result in death due to rupture and bleeding within the cranial vault. It can only help if the blood vessles do not rupture.

Thinning the blood say with extra water before trying to force it clear may help to lower the risk of death and improve the ability to dissolve the clot.

All strokes differ, depending on the area effected. The Brocas area in the brain effects communication skills, parietal lobe damage effects visual cognition etc. Some areas of the brain can be effected by stroke, but physical effects may not be immediately apparent.

Stroke or brain attack (like heart attack or myocardial infarction) is when the blood vessel supplying your brain or a part of your brain is obstructed. The brain unlike other organs will not survive long if it does not get its supply of oxygen, ergo stroke. A parietal stroke means that only the part of the brain called the parietal lobe is affected or the blood supply to the parietal lobe is affected.
