This is a very good question. The great intellectual J.krishnamurthy while sating that organized religion had become a vested interested stated that any form of division between man and man whether political or religious was wrong because sonner or later beliefs became dogmas and the so called religion or political affiliation became a vested interest which was impossible to get rid off. Transformation can take place at the level of the individual when he watches his thought process- when he wathces each thought, feeling and action as it is without reacting to it. This is the way to experience truth from moment to moment without making anything a dogma instead of making it a unquuestionable religious belef.

Fortunately with globalization, political division does not have the kind of significance that it used to have in the past. Humanity must be the sole religion if we have to avoid conflict. More men have been killed in the entire history of mankind because of organized religion than anything else which is why the famous saying "Religions are many, Religion is one" . One should aim for a religious mind instead of religion. I had written a poem on the "Legacy of September 11" which explains the point eloquently:- http://www.poetseers.org/submissions/2006/hiren_shah/

Humanity can be achieved only by bringing out equality. This means an equality to inspire,to compete, to work ,to earn based on individual competence. This will arouse a feeling in all to respect even those who may not be that competent but are putting there efforts to the very best and this effort from there side as such will command respect.

Let there be zero time in between the thought and the action. respond to every fraction of second as you feel it is the best. Listen to your inner man, only quality people can do something to the world. Quality in Thought, Action etc., we are badly in need of such qualities. First let it start from me [us], how best we can behave towards all happenings. Self imposed discipline, and realisation never forget to see that every part of our body contain a piece of heart. if such thirst is initiated in every being beginning from me [us] then you are done. We cannot force a raw mango to ripen but should wait and try to provide conditions which support the mango to get riper a little bit earlier. so let us start it from our self.

Think about others and respect their feeling too. Just for once stop thinking that you are the only one that exists on the face of this planet.
