I just went through the exact same thing for weeks and weeks. I went to my chiropractor to get adjusted, it may be a pinched nerve, or he said it could be stress. He gave me some excercises to do, like lowering my head slowly and then back up to help stretch the muscle. I was told if it doesn't go away soon I will have to get an MRI to see if there is another problem. Good luck I know it hurts.

make an appointment with a local chiropractor and/or massage therapist. my entire life i suffered from daily headaches, stiff neck and shoulders, and at least weekly migraines. it was not hard for me to go through a bottle of excedrin every other week or more. i started seeing a chiropractor, and after my third adjustment, i was headache free for an entire day. as i've continued with daily adjustments for the past month, i've had only 2 headaches. one was my own fault from staying up to late and having a little too much to drink, and the other was because i had been out of town for a week and did a lot of strenuous lifting and such. anyhow, chiropractic and massage combined are amazing. even if you only do a 15-30 minute massage on your neck.. works wonders. good luck. if you have any more questions you can email me at meghankopp63@yahoo.com

I have suffered with chronic headaches and neck pain for a long time. I had to go to the doctor for a prescription. This is the only thing that works, unless you can exercise to release the tension.
Also, using a rice-filled sock that warms in the microwave may help. Sometimes an ice pack helps others-you'd have to try one or the other for about 20 minutes to see how it helps or even if it will.

This is not normal Cutie
Get medical attention now; they will get a CT of the brain to make sure there is no mass that is causing increased brain pressure and may do a lumbar puncture to test that you do not have meningitis. Those are the worst case scenarios; but need to be done to have a clear conscious. Hope you start feeling better. If these tests show up negative, drink coffee in the morning and !!!!! relieve stress !!!!!!

Try a good massage therapist, helped me tremendously! Stress in the beginning caused knots in my muscles, even after the stressfull situation I was going through was over the muscles were still tight and stiff. I paid $30 for a half hour massage on my neck, shoulders, upper back and head. It was worth every penny.
