We are allies with Pakistan. Musharraf has been instrumental in the execution of many of our operations in that region, both military and diplomatic. There is a large segment of his country who would kill him if they could, and have tried and failed at least 3 times that I know of. He has given aid to the Coalition for the GWOT and tried to modernize Pakistani laws to make them more in line with the global idea of human rights.

There is no question as to whether or not we will "shake hands" with Pakistan.

Since the time when Rajiv Gandhi was the prime minister( I remember him showing evidence of Pakistani complicity in the Punjab conflict), Pakistan has been repeatedly upto some mischief or another. It seems that they are out to take revenge for Bangladesh and Kashmir or it has become a vested interest.( I read somewere that what will the Pakistani army do if permanant peace becomes a possibility between India and Pakistan).

When one reads things like "Talks are being held", one feels like laughing because such talks have no meaning unless there is any intention to follow them in letter and spirit. Talks are a farce when somebody is hell bent on creating trouble.

At the same time, one feels that things like cricket and interactions between artists should continue as that is somewhat useful. However if events like the Bombay Bomb blasts continue to happen, shaking hands or playing cricket does not have any meaning. Sooner or later, war will become inevitable and we will have to awake rather than shake.

Walking away from a situation, doesn't make the situation go away.

Have you ever been to around someone who has been drinking, and may be offensive and combative, and not using full rationale behind their words or actions, but still insist on pursuing negative situations with you?

Sometimes one is unable to walk away, so it becomes a more thinking mode to try and discuss rationality with this person so things do not get worse, or to try and stop the entire bad situation altogether.

Although it takes sometimes takes repeated efforts, it is always best to at least try to go the better route, than the worse, dont you agree?

An example of studied and tried proof in this like manner, is the tactic taught to, and used by women, in regards to and through the repeated and persistent efforts of trying to communicate with someone who is attempting to rape them, so as to force into the attempting rapists head, that the possible victim they have chosen to violate, is indeed a human being, and therefore, through this effort with reasoning, it should hopefully snap the intending violator out of subconscious thought-process by being made aware of such humanity.

CONSCIOUS thinking and awareness efforts by communication.

Would you rather have peace, or war?

I think that we should talk to them again. We need all people to be on the side of the peacemakers in order to resolve anything.
