Children? patience is the key word, much love, a lot of caring and assurance on your side. Look for the reason why the child hates you and talk it over. Remember, you are talking to a child, they can be fickle minded. He would like this or that...Be clever, think of a way to resolve the situation. I'm sure he/she wasn't able to get what he/she wants from you. You are far more clever than them. Good Luck.

In a bout of anger, your child may yell those infamous words...but they don't actually mean it. My son went through that stage, and now I'm literally his best friend. (He's 24)
You don't state how old your child is, but kids go through a bunch of 'stages' where they don't necessarily want to be around you, listen to you or really have anything to do with you at all. It's ok...
Love your child for who they are...

If your child says, "I hate you" then it is probably in order to get a reaction out of you. Most likely they don't hate you, they are just mad at you about something. A great response is "nice try kid."

My five year old hasn't said I hate you, but she has given me the "I hate you" look many times. My response is always, "you may hate me now but I will always love you."
You can't do anything except love your child.

believe me your child wouldnt hate you, they only say that to try to get what they want because they know it bothers you and they want the guilt trip...just give them a few minutes to cool off and then talk with them and let them know how you feel

I wish you would have given more details. Then it would be easier to answer.
Most of the time if they say they hate you then its to get you to react.
If there is truly hatred then try to find out why.
If you know why then you can fix it.

Hi, my 5 yr old tells me that every time he is mad at me or his dad, and when he doesn't get what he wants. They don't mean it, they just want you to feel sorry and give in..
