They like to poke fun at me if i diet? They are both overweight and i know they are not happy with their bodies. The put pressure on me to eat food like cookies and things i don't feel like eating sometimes. I feel like i am not part of their clic if i don't stuff my face like them. My mom acts like anyone who cuts down on food is anorexic and that is just ridiculous. Any suggestions on how to deal with them? Why are they acting this way?

you can chose not to eat the high fat snacks and then the other question would be are you trying to lose weight when you are at a healthy or are underweight. If you really do need to lose then sit down and talk to your mother. Is your mother really badgering you about overeating or is she just be concerned because you are not eating enough? and you are talking her comments wrong

Don't tell them you are dieting tell them you are just eating healthier and trying to set a good example for your daughter. When they offer food that you don't want tell them no thank you that you are not hungry, but would take a glass of water or something else. a lot of people when they offer food are just trying to be polite, so taking something else instead of a high fat snack or food makes them feel like they did something and both of your needs are met. Their needing to be polite and you not eating something you really don't want

This is such a tough situation. I am sorry that you have to deal with this, but you are doing the right thing! You will feel better, feel better about yourself, and be healthier and more full of energy if you lose weight and find the ideal weight for you.

The other suggestions are good, but one thing you should remember is that there are two sides to losing weight - first you can cut down on your eating, and second, you can increase your activity. If you just keep eating the same amount you are eating now, and you try to be active - walking or dancing 20 minutes a day, then you will probably not gain any weight. That's the first step. Then if you can get active for 40 minutes at least three times a week you should start to see a slow weight loss.
Maybe you could walk to school, or home from school, or join a sports team - have you ever seen a cross country runner who was overweight? No way! If you can increase your activity and keep from eating any more than you do now, then you will definitely lose weight. One year from now you could be down to 130 or even less.

That will take a lot of will power, but you will be SO glad you did it.
Good luck!

my mom is over weight, and mi dad and brother are muscley, and eat a lot of meat, which idont touch! i know exactly what u feel, u do feel weird and sort of isolated if u dont fit in with them, if they r unhappy den my advice is to say to them mayb u cud do healthy eating with me, thats wat i did. i sed chocolate and junk food isnt a way of life. 5 a day is. and that is wots recommended, its not about dieting, its about lifestyle choices. if they say no and carry on in their ways, u carry on with what your doing! dont 4get tho an occasional treat is ok sweetie. dotn over do it! and remember its not a diet, if u eat healthy its jst a way of lifestyle because its a permanent change, a long term one! They probably r jealous, but not in a nasty way to u, tehy have lived in that life style for a long time if they are overweight and find it hard to change their ways, u should be proud that ur taking ur own path and doing wat u no is right, and encouraging them a bit too, and u wont even know it! xx
