Depends on the guy....all guys are different. Some are only after sex, but will candy coat the relationship till that point. Others are actually wanting a serious relationship, someone they can actually talk too. So, it's hard to give any info on this question when each man varies. Personally, I would much rather have a best friend out of a woman....someone I can talk to, laugh with, enjoy time together, share the same interests and whatnot....but, if a guy don't ever open up, then his intentions are not sincere.

Women are people, and the fact of the matter is that not all people are "always open and honest about what they want". Some people don't even KNOW what they want. Many women automatically say they want a servant, and many men automatically say they want a nymphomaniac, but when they take the time to think it through, their answers become more realistic. Prince Charming isn't a butler, and no man could stand a woman who can never leave him alone.
Me? I want somebody who's genuinely fun to be with, whether we're out late at a party, going to a museum, hanging out on the couch watching DVDs, or just having an intelligent conversation. Somebody who doesn't sound like my mother. Somebody who "gets" my sense of humor. Somebody who's not afraid to hold hands with me in public. Somebody who has a life outside of the relationship (not including watching TV), and doesn't try to control or make fun of my hobbies and other passions in life. Somebody I don't have to fight over the car stereo with. Somebody attractive and sexually compatible with me. Somebody who lets me share little creative things (books, gizmos, whatever) without giving me strange looks, and likewise can show or tell me things I've never seen or known about.
I guess that's about it.

I, for one, would like to share my life with someone that I can connect with on an intellectual level, to be comfortable with sharing my private thoughts and emotions. Someone that will mutually tollerate imperfections and believe that both our lives are better for being together.

personally i want somebody who can accept me for who i am and what i already have. not for who they want me to be and what they want me to have. also to be appreciated and loved. i think a relationship is a teamwork...and if i treat my lady with respect, love, appreciation, sweetness, then i want the same back. if i cant get any of this in a relationship, then i dont jump into it. id rather stay single.
