Green tea extract as a weight loss remedy is a myth- no valid studies have shown any positive weight-loss effects from tea extracts versus a placebo. The companies which sell these products rely on studies which have shown a SLIGHT increase in metabolism when large amounts of green tea extract are consumed, but this has not translated into any tangible benefit. A healthy diet (which, of course, can include green tea) and exercise are effective for weight loss, not a tea pill.

I believe green tea. There are green tea pills out there so I am just guessing. Also, green tea has a lot of antioxidents and if you do not get decaf the caffeine spees up your metabolism a bit. I am drinking some right now! (not for weight loss though)

Green tea is better for you. As to weight lost, if you only depend on the tea, neither one will work. If you are watching your diet and exercising regularly, its best to drink the healthier one, which would be the green tea.
