I have a close friend that has been very flirty. Lately, we had become very close, and we talked about being more than friends. I told her I liked her a lot, but I am not able to date her at this time. She said, "We can still enjoy a good friendship!", so I let things go. Then, a few days later she saw me at church, and she said that her and a few friends had been planning on going dancing on Saturday night. We had planned on going for months, and now, she suddenly agreed. I am wondering if she was asking me on a date despite my feelings. Any idea??

Well I would say that she is just trying to get close to you so that the chemistry is already there. Then when you can date her. You will already feel extremely comfortable and want to be with her. Let;s just say it is a way of changing your mind.

She's being polite. You like the friend because she's flirty with you, not because you like her. Of course if you start going out with her you'll like her for real, now you already said you're unavailable, so you need to think about how that'll impact the friendship if you do go out with her and her friends and what message you're sending out by accepting to do that.

A bunch of friends going dancing sounds harmless enough. If you're concerned- don't go. Why not be her friend? Sounds to me like you are the one with the issues. Search your heart- there is only one right answer. God bless.

Doing things in a group is a non-threatening way of getting to know someone that you feel attracted to as a friend, or possibly more.
