she considers herself pagan. she practices witchcraft but doesn't necessarily believe in gods/goddesses but believes in some universal energy, connection to nature(etc), believes in karma, believes in reincarnation, loves nature, and believes in some sense of spiritual law/accountability(but not necessarily as structured as wicca). is there a name for it other than the blanket pagan term?..there's traits from several religions in there.

ps-please don't bother to say she's evil or suggest she get a bible because she's not here to read it lol and i'm not going to tell her to either =)

Just plain old 'pagan.' Hey tell her not to feel bad... that's me too! Wicca's got some great ideas but lots of us like to practice magic without the whole deity thing thrown in there.

I asked a similar Q once and got mostly these answers: Chaos magician, ceremonial magician, Discordianism.

I don't make value judgments on other people's religions. She sounds like a pagan to me, which IS a generic term. Wicca is a specific type of pagan, as is druid. I call myself an eclectic pagan.

Deist, or extra so a Dualist, meaning he believes in a Duality. Deists have a tendency to have self assurance God created the Universe yet takes no authentic section in the destiny of it truly is creation. A dualist believes that there are 2 facets to each little thing and that anybody is the mediums between those "2 worlds". It denotes God as being purely a being of and the source of sturdy, love and mild , and in no way unavoidably the ingenious substance of each little thing. And the "devil" being the different "deity" .

She wold either be an Eclectic Pagan, or an Eclectic Witch. She's nost definately not a Wiccan becuase she probably doesn't follow some of the basic tenets of our religion.

Sounds like a Pantheistic Eclectic Pagan to me. Am I right?

She would be an "Earth based Universalist". Where she doesn't follow any of the dogma of Wicca or other "established" Pagans but is definately not Abrahamic.

I think New Age would be best guess. According to wikipedia, "New Age is a broad movement of late 20th century and contemporary Western culture, characterised by an individual eclectic approach to spiritual exploration."

A Free Thinker? With alittle "Sourceress" added in . "Sourceress " meaning "connected to Source Energy" from the Universe. I like her already!

I agree with Rachel G. This is the link for the wiki entry for New Age. I think it describes your friend.

I think she would relate to the things on the page and might enjoy researching some of the references.

Sounds similiar to what I believe and adhere to. I like to think of myself as an Eclectic Wiccan with a healthy dose of Buddhist thrown in.
