Anything not accepted at local tips can normally be collected by a special refuse team from your own home.
This is normally free of charge, but different councils have their own code of practise, and may charge in some circumstances.
Always best to check first, the cost of the phone call can be far cheaper than trailing to the tip, and then having to bring the items back with you.

Nah they can be funny. Don't go in your 4x4 or your transit as they stick an entrance bar at six foot three which will scrape the paint off your roof. The only 4x4 that will go under is the Jeep but don't buy one of these as it hasn't got a chassis and won't tug a trailer. As a lot of the stuff is meant to get recycled they are none to keen on toxic things.

I don't think they take the old style computer monitors, the CRT ones and Televisions... as it costs money to recycle them and dispose of the components inside....
