I'd like to make my boyfriend an special meal this weekend. I am a good cook, and not concerned about the difficulty level on any particular recipe. Lately it feels like my recipe selections have gotten stuck in a rut, and I'd like to hear recipes that others made to wow their other half.

My husband drools over my crab/lobster bisque, and my homemade enchiladas. (Literally, I make the tortillas, the fillings, and the sauce from scratch.) The bisque is a little more labor intensive and takes me two days, so it's not a surprise. I also have a good recipe for homemade balsamic dressing, and an Asian pork loin marinade.

Let me know if any of them sound interesting!

One of the best menu's I've prepared included:

Beef tenderloin stuffed with a gorgonzola/bread mixture and a rosemary cabernet reduction.
Garlic Mashed Potatoes
Green beans with lemon
Pumpkin creme brulee

That's if you want to go really fancy. For a more lowkey meal,
try a version of Swedish Meatballs over egg noodles or mashed potatoes. Instead of the lemon in the green beans, steam them first and then toss with sauteed bacon and onion. Instead of the pumpkin creme brulee, a good apple pie is great at the end of this meal.

Swedish Meatballs ala Jenny:

11/2 pounds ground turkey
2 eggs
1/2 - 3/4 cup bread crumbs
1 pkg Liptons Garlic and Herb dry soup mix
fresh ground pepper

Mix the above together and form into 1 1/2 inch meatballs. Top with the following:

1 jar of Homestyle Turkey gravey
1/2 cup of light sour cream
splash of white wine
Assiago cheese

Mix the sauce mixture together and sprinkle with cheese. Cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Take the foil off during the last 10 minutes of baking. Spoon meatballs and sauce over noodles and enjoy!

A big hit is King Crab legs, red potatoes with butter & parsley and a fresh green salad with a balsamic vinagrette.

I cut up the potatoes into bitsized chunkes and start boiling them.

Start water for crab legs

Prepare salad

When potatoes are done, drain and leave in pot & turn off heat. Add 2 tbl sp butter and some parsley - cover. Stir potates just before serving.

When water boils for Crab - add and cook for about 5 min (just enough to warm them since they are pre-cooked.

Serve Crab legs with melted butter

This is a great & suprisingly fast meal that you will both love.

Stuffed shells, warm rolls with garlic butter, a salad and a bottle of wine

Grilled T-Bone steak, baked sweet potato with butter and cinnamon, and asparagus, with a bottle of wine

Chicken Marsala, rice, and a salad. With a bottle of wine.

Add candles, dim the lights, play some soft music, you can't go wrong. Oh, and don't forget the wine!! lol

My girlfriend made me filet minion topped with blue cheese for my last birthday. That was one of the best steaks I've ever had!

Hi, my husband (15 years married) made me a lasagne when we were dating and I *still* remember it!! I came home from work, went to his place and there it was. Yummy. I'd try that.
